Job Help! is in full swing for the holiday season…

xmas job cartoonOk, you’re still stuffed from Thanksgiving and now the days are counting down to Christmas with much to do. It’s easy to take a break from the job search this time of the year.

DON’T!

You never want to waste time in the job search. The PCC has a full slate of Job Help! programs scheduled for December so make a little time to take advantage of them. Let us help you keep focused and prepare to get your next job.

Job Search Strategies Thur. Dec. 1st 6-8pm Learn new ways to look for work. Bring a flash drive to save your work and stay for the open lab to get help with your job hunt and resume.

Vocational Career Workshop Fri. Dec. 2nd 2-4pm Learn about different careers, including job responsibilities, salary rates, and the education that these positions require. Networking strategies and resume writing will also be covered.

LinkedIn logoLinkedIn Thur. Dec. 8th 6-8pm Explore this social networking service for professionals – no matter what your career goals.

Job Interview Practice Mon. Dec. 19th 2-4pm Haven’t interviewed in a while? Get some practice and practical advice in this class. Bring your resume and cover letter.

Don’t forget our Job Club meets every Tuesday at 10am. Job Club is a networking and support group for the job seeker. Everyone is welcome… Members share their experiences and plan for future meetings.

Our Job Club starts Oct. 18th!

job clubWhat is the Job Club? A new PCC Job Help! program that is a job search and networking support group for people looking for employment. This informal club will be run by its members which means YOU! Everyone attending should be prepared to participant in some way – a tip on a company that is hiring, an idea for a discussion topic, maybe a success story, or just a question for the group. Please think about making this Job Club meeting part of your weekly job search arsenal.

Job Club will be every Tuesday at 10:00am

computer-training-classAll of our computer training classes for October have been listed (“click” here for the schedule). There is something for everyone.* We have three new classes which will be Microsoft Access, Microsoft Publisher, and Mail Merge.

On Oct. 13th (Thursday 6:00pm-8:00pm) we will be having a Job Interview Tips and Practice workshop.* You will be able to get practical advice to help you prepare for your next interview. Participants will do practice interviews. Why not practice before the real interview?

Starting Oct. 11th 18th on every Tuesday at 10am the PCC will be holding a Job Club meeting. What is a Job Club? It’s a place for people to meet who are looking for a job or career change to help each other out in a positive way. This club will be run by the participants and the first order of business will be to choose a formal name for the Job Club. Everyone attending should be prepared to share something with the group – a tip on a company that is hiring, an idea for a discussion topic, maybe a success story, or just a question for the group.
