The Public Computer Center will be offering three new free computer classes in July. The classes include…
Borrowing eBooks (July 11th and 20th, 2pm-4pm)
Learn to search, checkout, and download eBooks from the Buffalo & Erie County Library for your Nook, Kindle, or tablet.
Family Ancestry (July 18th, 2pm-4pm)
Trace your family’s roots with Ancestry Library Edition. Similar to Ancestry.com, this database is available for free at any library location.
Job Help! – Electronic Job Applications 101 (July 13th, 2pm-4pm)
Learn the basic skills necessary to complete online job applications. Mouse and typing skills, some basic familiarity with the Internet, a web-based email account are required.

We held our first Blogging 101 with WordPress class back in March and if you missed it you have another chance to sign up for it now…
This class is for the person who wants to create their own blog to write about their life experiences, express their opinions, or share their expertise in a certain area.
We will be using WordPress.com to create your blog, the same company that powers this site. The objectives for both parts can be found here. Students should plan on attending both sessions:
June 2,10:30am-12:30pm and June 9, 10:30am-12:30pm at the Julia Boyer Reinstein Library on Losson Road.

Update 6/2/12 – The first part of the Blogging 101 for WordPress class has been held. Anyone who has some experience with WordPress and already has an account may still attend the second part. Please fill out the form below and “click” submit.

Ok, you’re still stuffed from Thanksgiving and now the days are counting down to Christmas with much to do. It’s easy to take a break from the job search this time of the year.

Job Search Strategies Thur. Dec. 1st 6-8pm Learn new ways to look for work. Bring a flash drive to save your work and stay for the open lab to get help with your job hunt and resume.
Vocational Career Workshop Fri. Dec. 2nd 2-4pm Learn about different careers, including job responsibilities, salary rates, and the education that these positions require. Networking strategies and resume writing will also be covered.
LinkedIn Thur. Dec. 8th 6-8pm Explore this social networking service for professionals – no matter what your career goals.
Job Interview Practice Mon. Dec. 19th 2-4pm Haven’t interviewed in a while? Get some practice and practical advice in this class. Bring your resume and cover letter.
