Classes will begin in late January. We will post dates and times soon.

Beginning December 1st, we will have a volunteer on Saturdays from 10 am – 2 pm to answer your computer questions in the library. Look for the “Ask Me!“ sign if you need assistance.

The Wal-Mart  Foundation has given us enough to run a few more classes.  Look for these in January. We continue to seek funding for this important project. Any news will be posted here.

Tips for attending a in-person hiring event…

• Dress to impress. Personal grooming and demeanor are most important.
• Map out your strategy. Determine which employer you would like to meet first, and then prioritize.
• Come prepared. Bring several copies of your resume.

Phone interview instead? Call when there will be no distractions (like children) for you and use a landline phone over a mobile one if possible. Once again have your resume in front of you and any questions to want to ask written now.

Family Ancestry (July 18th, 2pm-4pm)

Trace your family’s roots with Ancestry Library Edition. Similar to Ancestry.com, this database is available for free at any library location.

Job Help! – Electronic Job Applications 101 (July 13th, 2pm-4pm)
Learn the basic skills necessary to complete online job applications. Mouse and typing skills, some basic familiarity with the Internet, a web-based email account are required.

This class is for the person who wants to create their own blog to write about their life experiences, express their opinions, or share their expertise in a certain area.

We will be using WordPress.com to create your blog, the same company that powers this site. The objectives for both parts can be found here. Students should plan on attending both sessions:

June 2,10:30am-12:30pm and June 9, 10:30am-12:30pm at the Julia Boyer Reinstein Library on Losson Road.

The Public Computer Center (PCC) got it’s start in January of 2011 at the Julia Boyer Reinstein Library. We have a full schedule of free computer training classes and Job Help! programs.
