Here is a list of all the things going on at the Julia Boyer Reinstein Public Computer Center (PCC) in October…
All of our computer training classes for October have been listed (“click” here for the schedule). There is something for everyone.* We have three new classes which will be Microsoft Access, Microsoft Publisher, and Mail Merge.
What do I wear? What do I say? How early should I be? I haven’t interviewed in years! On Oct. 13th (Thursday 6:00pm-8:00pm) we will be having a Job Interview Tips and Practice workshop.* You will be able to get practical advice to help you prepare for your next interview. Participants will do practice interviews. Why not practice before the real interview?
* Sign up at the library or call ahead (716-668-4991 ext. 14). Space is limited.
11th 18th on every Tuesday at 10am the PCC will be holding a Job Club meeting. What is a Job Club? It’s a place for people to meet who are looking for a job or career change to help each other out in a positive way. This club will be run by the participants and the first order of business will be to choose a formal name for the Job Club. Everyone attending should be prepared to share something with the group – a tip on a company that is hiring, an idea for a discussion topic, maybe a success story, or just a question for the group. Please think about making this weekly Job Club meeting part of your job search arsenal.
Job seekers, have you tried our JobNow! resource that we posted previous about yet? JobNow! has an adult learning center, resume templates to use, and live online resume/interview coaching! “Clicking” on the JobNow! logo to the left will take you to their site which you can access on any public library computer or at home with your library card number. UPDATED 10/4/11 - Changed the Job Club starting date from Oct. 11th to Oct. 18th.
